New spring/summer collection
With its new 2011 spring/summer collection, Mistral is paying tribute to its own rich history, with the original surfing culture playing a central role. The spring/summer collection 2011 is based on two color themes: Colors of Tropical Waves (strong colors such as coral, sunburst, cool ocean and berry, as well as washed pastel tones) and Colors of Mediterranee (classic marine colors such as Mistral navy, Mistral red, bright white, dark denim, sahara and gray melee).
The Mistral stripe
The collection devotes a great deal of attention to prints and artwork, subtly incorporating the red ‘M dot’, Mistral’s legendary trademark, in the pieces. Surf and photo prints simply exude the ultimate sunny and care-free beach feeling. The sweaters and T-shirts are clean and soft-brushed or appear washed by the sun and seawater. Inspiration for the palette of colors used in the retro polo shirts and the light, breezy beach dresses has been drawn from the intense shades of the setting sun. The trousers come in linen and light crispy cotton. Every piece in the collection incorporates the eye-catching blue Mistral stripe, either as a detail or across the whole of the garment (e.g. in the on-trend jumpsuit).
The extensive line of swimwear includes the Mistral stripe too: sexy shorts for women, stylish bikinis, fashionable bathing suits and rugged trunks for men. Finally, the swimwear line is rounded off by a series of ultra-light styles, including T-shirt dresses and women’s tunics.
