Behind the lines of the Mistral M1 Race Boards, you’ll find Abel Cathelineau and Helmut Wirtz. This shape team settled down on the Canary Islands where they found a sunny & quiet playground to satisfy their needs for being on the water.
Shaping SUPs since 2007 they started applying their expertise to race boards, providing fast and efficient prototypes to the local riders. As passionate and perfectionist surfers & living lives wholly committed to the experience , they’re continuously pushing their designs for performance improvement. Riding his own design, Abel managed to be ranked in the Top 10 of the Hamburg Jever World Cup in 2010, midst a team of pro riders.
Today, our new shapes are available for the most demanding racers. The M1 Race Line has been carefully developed with innovative super fast hull lines and efficient hydrodynamic drag reducing Axe-Bow, helping you to take and keep the pole position when racing. You’ll just have to paddle fast enough to keep up with the board!
Gianni Valdambrini
Gianni is the artist behind the Mistral Wave & Crossover board line. His passion for riding has led him to find the secrets of performance by shaping his own tools. As a beach bum, he fully embraced the beach lifestyle and started travelling the world to meet the perfect conditions.
Enriched by his travels, experiences and talent, his designs quickly became popular. He consequently started shaping for surf brands. Gianni has been involved in Stand Up Paddle Surfing since 2007. He designed the Mistral SUP Wave board line to satisfy the needs for the most advanced wave riders and the Mistral SUP Crossover Line for fun trips, workout trainings as well as expeditions. Cool paddling with your friends or picking up rolling waves; Gianni’s boards are specifically tailored & fit for your needs.
