Karol Ribeiro / Brazil
Karol is a professional surfer; all her friends say she is always happy and cares about the ones I love. 'I love getting to know new places and people worldwide while competing, and I'm glad to be part of this significant new generation of female surfers.' She lives in Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and when she took up surfing, no one in her family surfed, but living close to the ocean, it became the natural thing for her to do. 'I fell in love with the waves when I was seven and started surfing, and one year later, I started competing and never stopped. Staying in the sport means continuing to be close to nature, fighting for the next generation to have more opportunities, and surfing helps me express myself in ways I couldn't put into words.' As a person, she is always positive and leaves a smile wherever she goes. 'I love having Mistral as a sponsor; I love their boards and wetsuits and will continue to learn about the world through surfing and competing.'
