Emmy Wilén / Sweden
Emmy Wilén is a 27-year-old professional surfer who has been representing Sweden for the past five years. Taking up surfing at 17 during a family vacation to Tenerife, she was immediately hooked, having found a sport she loved. Being shy, it suited her nature to pursue a solo sport connected to nature, the ocean, and the waves. When she turned 18 and finished school, Emmy moved to Tenerife, immersed herself in developing her surfing skills and discovered her ‘Big Love’ and passion for surfing and the ocean. Growing up in a town called Falun in Sweden, her goal is to one day represent Sweden in the Olympic Games. She describes her most vital characteristic as being kind and considerate but admits to being stubborn, which is no bad thing when you know what you want. In 2022, Emmy won a silver medal at the Swedish Surfing Championships as she is fully committed to constant improvement through training and working with her coaches. ‘I love spending time with my friends and family, and I am thankful for their support and always believing in me. It always makes me very happy to spend time with them.’
