At Mistral, we revel in the challenge to create the world's fastest race boards over various water conditions for differing paddler abilities, whether hardboard or inflatable. Our results over the years support our racing pedigree and knowledge.
Racing Disciplines
Open Waters (Technical / Downwind)
We developed the Equinox 14' and Vanquish 14' boards for open-water paddling in coastal waters, which have both become proven race winners of distinction. With international victories from Tahiti to Peru, both boards are design icons. The Equinox excels in downwind events and coastal racing, while the Vanquish was created as a technical race board for out and back through the surf and around the markers and a superb rough water handling shape.
Flat Water (Marathon)
The Vortex race has won too many events to list and is certainly a premium race board podium-winning board at Holland's 11 Cities 5-day event. In the women's division as a design, it has dominated and enjoyed tremendous success in the men's division. It is a true favourite race-winning board amongst legions of fans. We've now developed Vortex Air inflatable variations for 2023. For the racing devotee; the Vortex boards deliver superb performance and quality of construction.
