Sil grew up in the Dutch Caribbean, began sailing at six, and soon after began surfing and windsurfing. From there on, surfing and being on the water became his life. 'The freedom I get from being on the water keeps me motivated. I live by the motto, "Live for today and respect Mother Nature." His favourite Mistral product is the Mistral Sphinx Wing because of how it feels in the hands and its incredible stability; he also likes the boards in the same range, which help keep him on the water. 'Being an all-around waterman sharing the stoke and living life to the fullest on the land is a great achievement for me.'
